In Japanese, Oshinobi means to retreat quietly - to slip away from the noise of the world and return to yourself.
I'm an interior designer published in Architectural Digest and other international magazines, and Oshinobi is a deeply personal project - a forest hideaway where I've woven the memory of my own 5 star travels into every thoughtful detail.
Newly renovated, the home sits among century old maples and evergreens on a forest of almost an acre and is a 7 min drive to Lynwood Center.
A fifteen minute drive from the Bainbridge ferry terminal, guests have full access to the entire newly renovated home with almost an acre of enchanted forest at their doorstep! While the property feels secluded and private, it is just a two-minute walk to the waterfront and a seven-minute drive to charming Lynwood Center with its wine bar, cafes, eateries (often with live local musicians), Renew Day Spa and Salon, and the historic Lynwood Theater.
Oshinobi is an ideal setting for guests who enjoy the outdoors, for family gatherings, couples' retreats, or anybody wanting to carve out some much needed time for themselves. Absolutely, no loud parties as this is a quiet neighborhood. Smoking is not permitted inside the property.
Inside Oshinobi, every element has been considered. Antiques and global treasures collected from my travels bring a sense of style and serenity to the space. It is my goal for every guest to leave feeling rejuvenated, well rested and pampered. Attention to small details, such as luxury hotel mattresses, heavyweight Oliix 1000 gsm 100% cotton towels, Olive and Loom fleece lined robes, luxe Lusetta shampoo and conditioner, and Hinoke soap help create a spa like atmosphere and help to awaken the senses.
We have found hands down the best massage therapist on the island, who will travel to you for a luxurious 90 minute massage. Booking ahead is necessary. (See eguide for more info)
There are some wonderful restaurants to choose from (see our eguide) within minutes drive at Lynwood Center and a little further afield (15 mins) in downtown Winslow. However, should you find yourself wanting to pause and enjoy that bottle of wine you bought at one of the local vineyards, and pair it with a leisurely home cooked meal, you will have a fully stocked kitchen at your disposal with Quartz countertops and an oversized sink, Portuguese dinnerware, Zwilling flatware, crystal wine glasses and a Fellow drip coffee maker and tea kettle and a Japanese tea set with a Matcha whisk.
Also included is some freshly ground coffee and a selection of teas to help you start your first morning off
Alternatively, Step outside to a large, private deck and throw some steaks on the outdoor grill or congregate at the fire pit for smores and conversation. Watching the sunset, star gazing and forest bathing allows you to commune with nature. This is the embodiment of "Oshinobi" to slip away from the noise of the world, let time dissolve and return to yourself.
Ample outdoor seating, including, 2 lounge chairs, a large outdoor table (seats 8), an outdoor sectional accommodates 6, the fire pit also seats 6.
The master bedroom has a King bed. The guest bedroom has a Queen bed. Both beds have cozy Boll and Branch Organic 100% cotton sheets. Feather down pillows make for a restful sleep. There are down alternative pillows upon request. The master has a walk in closet and the ensuite bathroom has a bathtub and shower. The guest bathroom has a walk in shower.
The living room has both queen and twin pull out sofa beds.
The master and guest bathrooms have high quality Shrate ionic hairdryers.
There are TV's in both bedrooms and universal charging stations on the bedside tables.
We accept dogs that are well behaved and fully house trained. Strictly no pets on the furniture please. Guests must clean up after their pets. Guests must divulge the breed on the booking request. A $50 additional pet cleaning fee will be added on to the reservation.

Please note this property is not child proofed. It can accommodate families, but young children should be closely monitored.
